Common sense when you think about it. Would you put milk that has gone off into your coffee? If a product doesn’t look or smell right, don’t use it, throw it away. Respect the shelf life of products.
As a makeup artist or beauty professional, products are used more frequenetly and with more clients than you own products. By opening and closing lids, tops and caps and pumping prouct out, air and therefore potential bacteria is getting into product more frequently, so as a professional, the published shelf life of say "six months" might mean only "one month" with a mascara wand. Think how your kit is used, do your prep it for safe beauty before and after use, are you using disposables correctly, who else might have had access to your products and kit? All these questions will help determine how long you keep your proucts in use. Think how your products will look to your clients and remember - perception is everything in this industry and a dirty looking work area/kit = dirty makeup artist!
