The first two makeup masterclasses by the SBA (Safe Beauty Association) designed by David Horne, Director of Education at Jemma Kidd Makeup School launched on 6 and 7 April and were a hit with the participants.  "The Perfect Canvas" and "All About Eyes" provided clients with an insight into the latest trends and products as well as very high level application techniques. The two masterclasses were held at Dermalogica's flagship store in Kensington, London where clients were able to take advantage of special "skin bar" analysis provided by Dermalogica's speciliats.  Roberta Kearsey, David's first assistant, facilitated these first two courses and brought her wealth of experience and expertise in working as a professional makeup artist across all sectors as well as an educator to the classes.

Commenting on the classes, Antonia Hawke, Founder of the Safe Beauty Association said "We are delighted to offer such high quality makeup masterclasses from leaders in the industry at a great price.  These classes have been designed for all to put into practise the SBA's Code of Conduct and thereby respecting the health and hygiene of  their customers.  The inaugural sessions were attended by makeup professionals of all levels and non-professionals who simply wanted to learn the best techniques and what products to buy.   It's crucial that the SBA communicates to consumers, makeup and beauty practitioners why the practise of safe beauty is essential.  Having a treatment or makeup done should not be like a game of Russian roulette, when the client has no idea what he or she might or might not catch from bad practice and unclean brushes, tools and products.  Afterall, you would never share a tooth brush, so why a makeup or cosmetic brush?"
