January 2010 – The SBA attended the International Makeup Artist Trade Show, IMATS in London  with guests and SBA Council members David Horne (Director of Education for the Jemma Kidd Makeup School) and Jackie Tyson (Chief Makeup Artist of the X Factor) on hand to answer the industry’s questions about health, hygiene and best practise.
February 2010 The SBA’s website launched and the first members of its Safe Beauty Association Council were appointed and announced including Bruce Grayson, David Horne, Jackie Tyson, Jo Fairley and Sarah Stacey.
Bruce Grayson, Head of Makeup for the Emmys and The Academy Awards. "'I am delighted to offer my professional support to the Safe Beauty Association as a Council Member” says Bruce.
David Horne, Director of Education for the Jemma Kidd Makeup School. “Educating audiences how to make cosmetics safe, hygienic and effectively reduce bacteria in cosmetics and subsequently upon the skin will help people get closer to the aspiration of flawless skin and if I can help people achieve that and build their self esteem in that process then I can think of no better reason to be a professional makeup Artist. To that effect I am proud to support the Safe Beauty Association cause” says David.
Jackie Tyson, Chief Makeup Artist of the X Factor and celebrity makeup artist. “Good hygiene is vital in our industry and something I have long championed. I am so pleased to hear about the launch of this Association and fully support its initiative” says Jackie Tyson.
Jo Fairley and Sarah Stacey, eminent health and beauty journalists for the Daily Mail’s You Magazine and co-authors of the enormously successful Beauty Bible series of books. Jo and Sarah comment: "At Beauty Bible we’re delighted to support The Safe Beauty Association’s crusade to ensure that shopping for cosmetics – and having your makeup done by a pro – is as risk-free as possible. We’ve seen some scuzzy makeup kits in our time – even belonging to Big Names! – and it’s time the industry finally cleaned up its act."

Candice Gardner, Dermalogica’s Education Training Manager comments on the SBA’s initiatives: “We love all things clean! Dermalogica has always been committed to purity. Our products use contamination-free packaging (tubes, flip-tops, spritzers) to avoid the dangers of double-dipping into open jars! We believe whole-heartedly that great skin is the result of the correct skin regimen, using innovative product and good hygiene practices. Let’s keep promoting cleaner, safer practise!”
April 2010 and beyond – The SBA’s online petition will be used to lobby for better teaching and education for both practitioners and consumers specifically in terms of health and hygiene across all channels of the makeup and beauty industry.
